Welcome to SEAT Kuwait

2004, the year of our "New SEAT" consolidation: With the world premiere of the SEAT Altea at the Geneva Motor Show a new era officially begins for our brand.

In March, we hold our first ever Open Day at our Martorell plant with more than 41,000 visitors.

This year is also the 20th anniversary of the SEAT Ibiza, with over 3.3 million units produced since its launch in 1984. The SEAT range is expanded with two new sporty versions of the SEAT Ibiza: the FR in January and the CUPRA in June. With 160 hp under the bonnet, the SEAT Ibiza CUPRA has the most powerful diesel engine in our range to that date.

A new era begins with the lauch of the Altea in Geneva.

In 2003, a year marked by great innovations and change, the prototype of a new key player in the SEAT range, the SEAT Altea, is revealed at Frankfurt's IAA Motor Show. 582 million Euros are allocated to its R&D and the adaptation of its production process. To quote the president of SEAT, Dr. Andreas Schleef, the SEAT Altea marks the beginning of a new SEAT era.

SEAT joins Audi and Lamborghini in the Audi Brand Group and under the umbrella of the newly organised Volkswagen Group in 2002.

Dr. Andreas Schleef becomes President of SEAT.

The new SEAT Cordoba is unveiled at the Paris Motor Show, adding a family model to our current range.

The new SEAT Ibiza is exhibited at the Bologna Motor Show in 2001: a new generation of our brand's most emblematic car.

The SEAT Tango, a spider concept car inspired in the sports cars of the 1950s and 1960s, is revealed – together with the new high-performance SEAT Leon CUPRA R prototype, as developed by SEAT Sport.

In 2000, the outstanding SEAT Salsa concept car is unveiled: It marks an innovative styling for SEAT's new product image.

SEAT celebrates its 50th anniversary. His Majesty King Juan Carlos I receives the company's management in audience. In the same year, the Prince of Asturias visits SEAT's Martorell facility.

We present our new brand claim: 'SEAT auto emoción'. It reflects our new brand values, including design and a sporty character.
